Welcome to 4th grade!

Life in 4th grade is great! I have some friends (my students) that are pushing me to new limits. The 4th grade class is full of very high need personalities. I love all of my friends even when they have been to the safe seat 5 times and the office 3.

I am adjusting pretty well to the 4th grade curriculum and I am just as excited as the student to learn more about this great and wonderful state of Missouri!!! We get to go on our 1st field trip on Thursday! I have never been on an educational field trip as a teacher, so I am extremely excited! I went through all the steps with the principal and she gave me a list of things to bring/prepare for. I think I will be lugging a huge backpack around if I brought ALL the stuff she suggested, haha! Due to some of the behavior issues in my class the Title I Math teacher will be joining us for the trip. I am a little relieved there will be another adult with me. I handle the student all day by myself at school but there is the reassurance that I can push the call button and someone is there to assist. If I were to go by myself there wouldn't be that reassurance and it could be a bad situation.

The bus takes off at 8:45 and our first "session" at the lake starts at 9:30 sharp!  We are visiting a local lake where my friends will get to explore soil, river formations, and look closer at water creatures. I am very excited and so are my friends!!!
